27 Mar 2017

Sixth Form business faculty students from Oswestry School, Eliza Liepina and Dominic Fisher, were selected by local businessman Mr Neil Ruby to represent his company ‘Italy Hair and Beauty’ at the ProHair Live Exhibition in Manchester. Ex pupil, Serena Marks, was also invited to attend having previously assisted Mr Ruby at other trade shows.

The students were involved in all stages of the event, from setting up the stall to engaging with and selling to customers over the course of the weekend. Students gained invaluable experience of personal selling and an insight into the real world of business.

Neil Ruby said, “All of my team have commented on what a fabulous job Eliza and Dominic did over the weekend. They are both extremely professional, showed maturity beyond their years and were exemplary ambassadors for Oswestry School. Their enthusiasm and drive to get on with jobs without supervision and using their initiative is really quite rare. It marks them out as valuable members of a team for these sorts of events, and I am very grateful.”

Dominic and Eliza enjoyed being involved with all aspects of the exhibition from setting up to selling. They learnt the importance of holding events like this in order to develop brand loyalty and good customer relations. Dominic and Eliza said, “It highlighted the importance of teamwork along with customer relations to provide good service. I would like to thank Neil very much for this opportunity and for

welcoming Eliza and I into the team so well which made the experience even more enjoyable.”
