Oxbridge Beckons for Wellington School Pupils

12 Jun 2019

Three pupils from Wellington School have received Oxbridge offers this year.

Tim Kilbey and Angus Hunter have both had offers from St Catherine’s College, Oxford for Medicine and Human Sciences respectively and Victoria Zhang has an offer from Murray Edwards College, Cambridge to study Human, Social and Political Sciences.

“We are very proud of Victoria, Tim and Angus and their outstanding achievement in receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge. This is not only a reflection of their significant academic potential, but also a just reward for their hard work and dedication to their studies over many years which has brought them to this point. The fact that these pupils are extremely busy in numerous other areas of School life makes their success all the more impressive. They are also delightful individuals and a great asset to the School. ” commented Henry Price, Headmaster of Wellington School.

“At Wellington School, we aim to support all our students in their university choices and guide them through the process so their expectations and hopes are realistic and achievable.  It is so rewarding when these hardworking and dedicated students receive Oxbridge offers, and I warmly congratulate them on their success,” concluded Henry Price.

The diverse subjects offered is indicative of the breadth and quality of teaching offered at Wellington School and once again reinforces its position of strong academic results across a range of academically rigorous subjects.

These offers come as the DfE league table put Wellington School at the top of the Somerset league tables for the quality of our A level results, which are often in the more demanding, facilitating subjects.
