Pancake Day comes early for Bromsgrove Pupils

27 Feb 2015

Pupils at Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory & Nursery School enjoyed Pancake Day a week early, with a visit from Holroyd Howe’s Development Chef, Steffan Williams.

Chef Steffan demonstrated to pupils how to make the perfect pancake batter and explained the significance of Shrove Tuesday, with the children having go at cooking and flipping the pancakes themselves.

Kate Western (Deputy Head [Academic]) comments, “There was a beautiful display of ingredients and the children were thrilled to get the opportunity to practise their pancake-making skills. They especially enjoyed tasting the delicious treats at lunchtime. We extend our thanks to Chef Steffan for making this such an enjoyable learning activity.”

Pancake Day is one of many theme-days which Holroyd Howe, Bromsgrove School’s new catering partner, is putting on for pupils across the Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior Schools. The focus is on fresh ingredients and local suppliers, offering pupils as much variety as possible, whilst also educating them on the choices they make.
