St Edward’s School, Cheltenham – GCSE Results 2018
21 Sep 2018
There was a wonderful atmosphere as students collected their GCSE results this morning. Tears of joy and beaming smiles greeted staff and eagerly awaiting parents as students celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results. Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils and to the staff who have supported their achievements. The results continue our upward trend with almost half of all grades achieved being at A*/A /level 7 and above. There were some impressive individual performances from students of all abilities and we are delighted with their achievements overall. Most notably Louis Gardner, Zeynep Koseoglu, James Sykes and Jack Wright achieved 10 or more GCSEs all at A*/A and Level 7 and above.
Mrs Clayfield, Headmistress, commented:
“We are thrilled for our students and staff that their hard work and commitment resulted in some well-deserved outcomes. We knew the changes to GCSEs would provide a greater challenge and so we are particularly pleased that our students embraced this and produced some excellent results. The culture of positivity, which exists at St Edward’s, enables our students to believe in themselves and strive for their best; and now they can celebrate their achievements! It was lovely to witness so many of our students taking the time today to thank their teachers personally for their support. I would like to add my thanks to the staff for their dedication in supporting our students and enabling them to succeed.” We are proud of our Year 11 and delighted in their achievements.
