Staines Prep Proudly Honours Fifty Years of Service

05 Mar 2014

Staines Prep has proudly announced the installation of a new clock in honour and memory of a very valued and respected member of staff, Mrs Joan Coles, who dedicated fifty years of her working career to the school in a variety of different roles.

The donation of the beautiful grey and gold clock, fondly named The Coles Clock, came from Joan’s daughter Linda Coles, the school’s ICT Manager and Latin/Classical Studies Coordinator, and Joan’s son Victor Coles.  The clock now commemorates their mother’s long and loyal service to the school from 1944 to 1994.

Miss Coles said: “My mother really loved working at Staines Prep and especially enjoyed being around all the children.  We wanted to find a way for her to be remembered and thought this a fitting tribute to her memory.”

The new clock has pride of place outside the library facing the playground.
