Time capsule is sealed into Clifton College’s roof

29 Oct 2018

With our Big School roof renovation nearing completion, over the past week, our Prep School children have been busy collecting items of interest to be sealed away in our time capsule.

From postage stamps, coins and a school uniform tie to hand written notes, photographs and a newspaper, each Prep School class has worked together to collect things they felt would capture what school life is like at Clifton College in 2018.

Excitement built this afternoon, as the children saw the time capsule for the very last time. Our Prep Headmaster, Mr Walton, had the honor of placing our time capsule in its new home – the Big School roof.

The building work that has been carried out on the roof over the course of this summer is believed to be the first time the roof has been completely refurbished since the College was first built in 1862… 156 years ago!

Secured to one of the highest beams within the rafters of the roof, our time capsule was today sealed away for it to be found in hundreds of years time. We can’t help but wonder what life will be like when it’s found
