Wellington School Chapel Choir visits Eton College Choir
05 Mar 2018
Forty members of the renowned Wellington School Chapel Choir collaborated with the Eton College Choir, at Evensong in the famous Eton Chapel. The fifty strong Eton Choir welcomed the Wellington Choir and after time spent rehearsing, they were treated to a tour of the College.
There is a special connection between Wellington School and Eton College. Their Director of Music, Tim Johnson was the original Assistant Director of Music at Wellington School under Director of Music, Andrew Trewhella here. Also, our piano and organ teacher John Young used to run the music at Eton’s Lower Chapel, whilst he was Director of Music at St George’s Prep School, Windsor. In addition, Headmaster, Henry Price attended Eton as a boy and was delighted to visit his alma mater once more with the choir.
With the Chapel full with 500 Eton pupils and both choirs, the sound was incredible and will live long in the memory of all those who took part.
