    Facilities

St Clare’s is a coeducational independent school with a very strong academic profile.

Our “excellent” Nursery at St. Clare’s provides a safe, fun and caring environment. This is not just daycare; this is a St Clare’s nursery education for 2 ½ to 4-year-olds with small class sizes, full-time qualified teacher, weekly Spanish and Forest School as well as a healthy hot lunch and free after school care until 5:30pm. Prep School children also benefit from specialist teaching in Science, Spanish, PE, Music and Art. This enables us to offer a successful yet challenging and stimulating educational environment.

Our core values are Achievement Challenge Excellence.

St Clare’s provides a return to traditional values and standards in a modern setting. We believe good manners, high personal standards of dress and a culture of mutual respect and courtesy are extremely important.

St Clare’s which is part of the global Cognita family of schools, has fast-tracked its programme to equip all pupils from Year 3 to Year 13 with their own personal digital device for use in school and at home. This will enable pupils to be taught at home through online learning during this and any future lockdowns.  While it means that we will be well prepared for lockdowns, this programme is more about the integration of the most beneficial aspects of digital learning in education now and in the future. It will enable our pupils to develop their digital skills, preparing them for life beyond school. In addition, it will allow our teachers to use technology in the best way possible to support personalised learning, from providing feedback through to developing peer-to-peer collaboration skills. We’re confident that we are moving towards the classroom of the future.

Our academic results at both GCSE and A-Level are excellent and consistently well above the national average thanks to our specialised teaching delivered by experienced subject specialists and examiners.

Our modern, light and airy Science labs offer great opportunities to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to A-Level. Our impressive sports fields and Multi Use Games Area offer fantastic opportunities for pupils across the whole school to participate in outdoor sports. Our recently modernised bespoke Art building offers even greater opportunities to study Art, Textiles and Graphics up to A-Level.

St Clare’s is in the top 5% of schools in the UK for ALPS (A-Level Performance System) for the last three years. Sixth Form students are taught in small tutorial-style groups. The new state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre has improved technology and modern kitchen facilities, allowing for independence within the school community. Quiet areas are also set aside to provide for independent study.

St Clare’s will always be small enough to ensure that we have a deep and valuable knowledge of every individual pupil but large enough to create meaningful communities and provide a wide and varied academic, pastoral, enrichment and extra-curricular offer.

In choosing St Clare’s as a school for your son or daughter you are ensuring that they are educated in a nurturing environment and will realise their full potential.
